Our favourite local restaurant The French Table, made it to the finals of  The F Word.  They went head to head with Newcastle based Le Bouchon, in a showdown for ‘Best Local French Restaurant’ in Great Britain.  They were shortlisted from hundreds of top French restaurants and made it all the way to the final by customer votes!

The dishes Chef Eric cooked in the final were:

-Pan fried foie gras with fig and muscat grape chutney. 
-Rack of lamb with spätzle, girolles, aubergine tempura, aubergine puree, rosemary sauce (Recipe featured below) 
-Crêpes suzette

Gordon Ramsay was heard to quote on the show: “One of the best dishes I’ve eaten all year!” and “I know Michelin starred French restaurants in the centre of London that are no way near as good as this.”  Praise indeed!
