One to watch

We will be watching A Question of Sport this Friday 12th February, BBC1 at 7:30pm. Sascha Kindred, one of Great Britain’s most successful paralympic swimmers, is realising one of his many dreams by appearing on the BBC’s long-running sports entertainment programme.
We were incredibly lucky to have the pleasure of spending time with six-time gold medallist Sascha last year when he featured in a video we scripted and produced for Radian specifically to launch their new vision ‘Where People Flourish’ and values. As part of Radian’s internal communications, we were asked to create an innovative introduction to the campaign. Looking for an inspirational speaker who would interest and motivate staff, Sascha spoke openly to Radian’s Chief Executive, Lindsay Todd, about personal and team goals. The video was shown to employees concurrently across many different locations at the same date and time.
Those of you who are passionate about sport will be familiar with the popular TV quiz show, which celebrated 40 years last month. Sascha, an all round sports enthusiast, will join former international footballer Ian Dowie on Matt Dawson’s team on Friday, going head to head with Phil Tufnell and his team, Welsh international footballer Gary Speed and rugby league coach Brian Noble.
Some of the biggest names in British and International sport have stepped into the spotlight of sporting trivia to determine which famous faces are hiding on the picture board, guess who the cleverly disguised mystery guest is, and ask themselves that all important question, what happened next? Like so many of us who religiously watch A Question of Sport, through choice or family obsession, Sascha is now a contestant himself and rightfully part of the sporting phenomenon.
Those who remember, the first show kicked off on 5th January 1970, hosted by David Vine, with original team captains, English heavyweight boxer Henry Cooper and Wales rugby union star Cliff Morgan. In the late seventies, sports presenter and commentator David Coleman took over from Vine, and for the next eighteen years kept us entertained along with Emlyn Hughes, Bill Beaumont and Ian Botham, to name but a few. Former professional tennis star Sue Barker replaced Coleman in 1997 and with a few captaincy substitutions, is today kept on her toes by Dawson, one of England’s Rugby World Cup winners and former England cricketer, Tufnell.
So, whether you’re home or away, catch A Question of Sport, Friday 7:30pm, BBC1.
